Major Theme /intervention

  • Promote healthy ecosystem services to contribute to conserving aquatic and terrestrial biodiversity.
  • Conserve aquatic and terrestrial biodiversity of selected local governments (LGs) of the Bajhang district.
  • Train 1580 individuals, including 600 on the Aquatic Animals and Biodiversity Conservation Act (AABCA), 180 government stakeholders on integrating climate change considerations into budgeting, planning, and implementation,
  • Train 600 individuals on climate-smart practices providing them with knowledge on climate-resilient agriculture. This will empower farmers to analyze local climate impacts and adopt suitable technologies for climate resilience.
  • Through this grant activity, SDC Nepal plans to sensitize 200 individuals to Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) issues in Natural Resource Management (NRM) through multi-stakeholder dialogues.
  • SDC Nepal will support two rural municipalities to formulate the AABCA Bill and form and register eight Community Aquatic Animal and Conservation Groups (CAACGs) to empower local communities to conserve and sustainably use freshwater resources.
